Aim of the project:

The aim of the project is to propose a methodology for the compilation of a comprehensive multi-criteria evaluation of farm performance based on FADN database.

Summary of the project:

Under the new project the methodology for multi-criteria evaluation of economic holdings was designed. It aims to serve as a basis for additional outputs of Liaison Agency FADN in Czech Republic.
Selected solution utilized potentials of FADN survey, which annually collects data on the structure, production and economic results of a representative sample of farms.
The final agricultural enterprise evaluation reflects a broader concept than only achieving the best economic results. On the basis of the possibilities offered by FADN database it was established five dimensions, taking into account production, financial position of the companies, efficiency, environmental and others (including social) functional areas, which are important for sustainable development of agriculture.
Investigated methodological questions dealt with the input information analyzes that was used to reach the goal. Subsequently indicators of individual areas were defined for which calculation method and the method of assigning scores was established. Calculated scores are then weighted both at the level of individual indicators, and at the level of dimensions.
The proposed methodology offers a flexible solution for the selection of indicators and for their scoring and weighting, which enable interaction on the future development in agriculture.
