Who we are

Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (IAEI) is state-subsidized organization established by Ministry of Agriculture on 1. January 1993.

Main activities:

basic and applied research and development in the field of agricultural policy and economics including the multifunctional agricultural and rural development on macroeconomic, regional and microeconomic levels;
systematic development of the scientific discipline agricultural economics;
dissemination of research and development results by means of educational activity, publication and technology transfer and other forms of passing on the acquired knowledge to the agricultural and rural sector;
development of concept proposals and background documents for the formulation and implementation of economic policy in the agri-food sector;
monitoring, analyses and predictions of economic, social and regional development in the agri-food sector in relation to rural development and environment conservation;
acquisition and analyses of selected information and data influencing the state and behaviour of the business sphere of the agri-food sector;
expert, training, service and information activities;
the function of a Liaison agency of FADN CZ;
the creation and administration of FADN compatible with the EU and organization of sampling surveys in the agri-food sector;
the operation of a specialized library and in the framework of this activity the acquisition, processing, preservation and making accessible of professional literature and other forms of documentary or data information from the sphere of agriculture and food production;
to make accessible and to ensure the servicing and maintenance of selected data sets of the public part of the state information system administered by the Ministry of Agriculture, the operation and making accessible of the „Bank of films and video programmes of the Ministry of Agriculture“ including the archives of these programmes;
transfer of professional agricultural, food and related information, especially specific editorial and publishing activities, presentation and promotional services, educational activities and related services including printing services;
training and accreditation of new advisors, further education and information support of accredited advisors, the activities of the supervising and methodological body for extension services, the administration and keeping of the Register of Advisors of the Ministry of Agriculture for the spheres of agriculture and rural development;
methodological and coordination activities aimed at implementation of the Strategy of Lifelong Learning in the agriculture and rural development sector including the initial professional education;
education of employees of departmental state authorities;
conceptual and coordination activities aimed at implementation of provisions of the extension system of Ministry of Agriculture for the sphere of agriculture and rural development.
